Nokia may only have announced Symbian Belle a couple of days ago, but it’s already clear that Nokia’s is getting behind NFC in a big way. And in the case of the Nokia 600, that commitment is all about gaming.

The naming convention may have changed, but there’s no doubt that the Nokia 600 is an X Series handset at heart. It’a all about entertainment, and that shines through clearly in everything from its powerful speaker to its dedicated playback buttons.

And like its fellow Symbian Belle newcomers the Nokia 700 and Nokia 701, it features Near Field Communication (NFC) support as standard. That means it will be able to take advantage of easy pairing with accessories and instant sharing of files simply by touching the two devices you want to connect.
But for the Nokia 600 specifically there’s an NFC-based bonus that’s sure to attract plenty of attention on its own: NFC gaming.
The Nokia 600 comes pre-installed with NFC versions of two of the biggest mobile games around right now, Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja, giving them an exciting twist that speaks of the vast potential NFC has in the gaming arena.
The NFC versions of Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja enable you to unlock additional levels and content by using the Nokia 600′s capabilities to bring two handsets into contact. In Angry Birds’ case, it’s extra levels, while Fruit Ninja uncovers an extra blade.
That’s about all we know right now, and given that both the Nokia 600 and Symbian Belle have yet to hit the market, that will have to do for the time being. But we’re certainly looking forward to testing out the Nokia 600′s NFC powers with some Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja action just as soon as we can.
